The Hamptons, New York Photography, Getting Back to Film

A mentor of mine once told me, “sell your shoes for film.” Good advice I suppose, especially since there was no digital alternative at the time. Lately I’ve felt a little “digital’d out” and have been trying to get back to my film roots, putting my old 35mm and 645 gear back into service. Having a finite number of frames to work with, and stopping to reload film forces you to slow your pace and be more thoughtful about framing and your subject. Not to mention film STILL looks better than digital. A few weeks back I photographed my friend Christian at his place in Sag Harbor and then we took a trip to his childhood home in Sagaponack.
